Campanula Blue Clips
* Common name: Campanula Blue Clips(R)
* Botanical name: Campanula carpatica
* What it is: A low, mat-forming and slowly creeping perennial flower with small, rounded leaves and rounded blue flowers that nearly cover the plant in early to mid-summer. Long-blooming and rabbit-resistant.
* Size: 10-12 inches tall, 24 to 30 inches apart.
* Where to use: Nice edging perennial in border or foundation bed. Best in light shade but will grow in full sun or fairly deep shade (albeit with fewer blooms). Also nice massed as a colorful groundcover in light shade under trees and tall shrubs.
* Care: Keep damp the first season, then water usually not needed. Fertilizer usually not needed either. Spent flowers can be lightly sheared after bloom. Cut off dead foliage at end of winter. Plants can be divided in early spring or early fall.
* Great partner: Superb as groundcover around white birch or oakleaf hydrangea.
