Angelonia Serenita series
* Common name: Angelonia Serenita™ series
* Botanical name: Angelonia angustifolia
* What it is: A new series of compact annual flowers that produce multiple spikes lined with dainty, orchid-like flowers. Color choices include purple, lavender, pink and white. Nicknamed “summer snapdragons,” angelonia tolerate heat, drought and humidity and aren’t attractive to rabbits to deer.
* Size: 12 to 14 inches tall and wide.
* Where to use: Mass them in any sunny garden (especially out front), spot a few for summer color in foundation beds or mix them in pots with other sun annuals.
* Care: Prefers damp, rich and well drained soil but tolerates dry conditions and less than ideal soil. Needs no deadheading or spraying but flowers best with a shot of fertilizer formulated for flowers every few weeks, especially in pots.
* Great partner: White and purple ones are perfect with pink roses or pink spirea. Any look good next to boxwoods, holly or cherry laurel.
