Hydrangea Let’s Dance Starlight
* Common name: Hydrangea Let’s Dance Starlight(R)
* Botanical name: Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Lynn’
* What it is: A new and compact hydrangea that’s the first reblooming lace-cap type. Petaled clusters bloom blue in acidy soil, pink in neutral to alkaline soil.
* Size: 3 feet tall, 4 feet wide.
* Where to use: Eastern foundations or massed in the dappled light under trees. Morning sun, afternoon shade is ideal.
* Care: Scatter organic granular fertilizer such as Flower-tone or Plant-tone around base of plant in March. Keep damp the first season, then water deeply once a week in dry weather. Scatter sulfur or aluminum sulfate spring and fall to turn flowers blue. Scatter lime if you want pink. Prune only if needed for size control mid-July to mid-August.
