The main idea of this site is to provide timely, helpful, unbiased, local and hopefully accurate information that gardeners in central Pennsylvania will find useful. I love plants and gardening and want to share what I’ve learned to help others be successful in their own gardens.

This site also will give gardeners information on my Garden House-Calls consulting and design service. I’ve been helping gardeners one-on-one since 1999 and have stayed ridiculously busy by word of mouth. But lately, people told me they had a hard time tracking me down since I didn’t have a site online. Now I can be “googled.”

When I mention a product or a place here, it’s because I believe in it. I’ll accept advertising, but those will be marked as such. No one will be able to buy a kind mention. I won’t “sell” recommendations in response to an offer to advertise, in other words. I’m a journalist by training and heart and try to remain as independent and unbiased as possible.

I don’t collect or disseminate any personal information. If you sign up for my free e-column, I need your email solely to get you the column information. I don’t/won’t sell or trade any addresses. And if you buy any of my info materials, your payment information goes directly and securely to PayPal, just as with services such as Amazon or eBay. I don’t even see payment information.

I’ve tried very hard to be as accurate as possible. Let me know if you see anything here that’s not accurate or that becomes outdated (especially broken links and such). And although I’m no fan of legal mumbo-jumbo, I hereby warn you that if you do something I say and it doesn’t work out very well, don’t blame me! I’m merely passing along what I’ve learned or observed first-hand. I thank you.
